Christmas By The Lake Volume VII

Annual Holiday CD for Charity to Feature 26 Songs

Duluth, MN……A Christmas by the Lake- Volume VII is scheduled for release Thursday, November 21st.  This year’s CD will feature 26 songs by musicians from throughout the region and will sell for $12 each at area Super One Foods, Pam’s Hallmark in the Miller Hill Mall and on-line at www.lundeenproductions.com. “The response from musicians was incredible this year” said Tracy Lundeen, Executive Producer and President of Lundeen Productions. “We have a great variety of artists ranging from those with national ties to regional musicans that perform professionally, to groups based out of schools and churches. The CD really represents a little bit of everything we have to offer musically.”

There’s even a little star power on this year’s CD. Last year Lorie Line contributed a song, this year it’s Danny Mangold.  Danny was guitarist and vocalist and founding member of Minneapolis Rock/Soul group The Metro All Stars. After moving to Seattle in the early 80’s, Mangold has worked with The Neville Bros, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Heart and Spin Doctors to name a few. He continues to play and produce music in Seattle for Music Supervisors and in Los Angeles for Disney and Showtime. He has been written up in Billboard, Mix, Guitar World, Guitar Player and Premier Magazine. Lisa Franze, originally from Duluth, has also contributed a song in collaboration with her husband and friends. Her husband, Billy Franze, toured extensively with Johnny Lang and frequently performs with big names in the music industry. Even St. Louis County Attorney Mark Rubin has contributed to the project.

A Christmas by the Lake proceeds will benefit the Bluebird Foundation. Bluebird was formed in August of this year to be an advocate for regional kids in the arts. The Foundation’s mission statement is: “To be an advocate for area youth in the performing arts and to create awareness of the power of the arts to enhance self-esteem, to increase understanding of others, and to improve academic performance.”

TwinPortsNightlife.com has returned this year as a major sponsor of A Christmas by the Lake. TwinPortsNightlife.com is a one stop e-guide for everything after 6PM in the Twin Ports area and provides site visitors with insight into the nightlife scene in Duluth, Superior, and surrounding areas.  “We are thrilled to be part of such a worthy project” said Walt Aplin, co-owner of TwinPortsNightlife.com. We are especially excited this year to support the CD with the proceeds going to the Bluebird Foundation.  We share the foundation's passion for those students who are in the arts and face the challenges that unfortunately have arisen in these tough economic times.  By providing both the northland a fabulous offering of Christmas music as well as supporting such a great cause - you can't go wrong!”
