Excuse Me Princess started as a creative channel for songwriter Jack Campbell, who played drums in the band Completely Random. Around summertime 2009, Campbell teamed up with Completely Random bassist Sam Wattrus, and the duo started recording Campbell’s accumulated songs and prepared to start gigging. On October 9th, 2009, Excuse Me Princess played their first “official” live show at the Acadia Café in Minneapolis with musical friends Courtney Yasmineh and Bill Mike. Given much positive feedback from the small crowd at Acadia, Campbell and Wattrus prepared to leap headfirst into the Duluth music scene with no real idea as to where it would go. Two months later, right before a December show at Beaner’s Central, Sam brought his friend Greta Konkler to a session, and she sang on a cover of The Scientist by Coldplay. Whether it was a success or a failure, none can be sure, but needless to say, Konkler was made a full time member and debuted at Amazing Grace in February 2010. So with a record on the way and many shows to be played, you know there is fun to be had with this bunch of kids.
