Du Luth supplies a brand of original, witty and complex songs. Many of them are about or inspired by the city of Duluth and reflect its beauty and eccentricity like the curve of Lake Superior shore reflects lights from Park Point. Some of Du Luth's songs are richly layered with strings, percussion, vocal harmony and piano while others are sparsely dressed in simple guitar, relying heavily on the potency of his lyrics. In concert he makes use of pre-recorded back up vocals and the afore-mentioned instruments or layers instruments as he plays with effects pedals. His stage persona is energetic and charming and frequently becomes interactive. Also, expect to hear some covers of his favorite local musicians. |
