When you come to an Old Knifey and the Cutthroats show, you can't expect a perfect show. You can expect a fun show. With three-part harmonies and instrumentation that somehow seems to work, Old Knifey and the Cutthroats can appeal to listeners in small town bars as well as trendy urban coffee shops. Matthew R. Perrine of the Duluth Budgeteer News says: Old Knifey and the Cutthroats' Adam Depre is a solid songwriter and performer, and, better still, he has a sense of humor: After playing the stunningly authentic “Ain’t Never Tried Blues,” he said his second song, a C&W-soaked ode to whiskey, cigarettes and country music, was “about a girl.”
