DSSO Masterworks VI: Elgar & Bruckner

Live Music
DSSO-Elgar-Bruckner
  Saturday, April 15 07:00 PM

  DECC Symphony Hall

The Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra performs music composed or inspired by Edward Elgar and Anton Bruckner.

Gustav Mahler called Hans Rott the “Founder of the New Symphony” and Rott was one of Bruckner’s favorite students. His Julius Caesar Overture gives a hint of the genius that Mahler admired so much. Next in the program is Elgar’s beloved Cello Concerto with up-and-coming cello superstar Gabriel Martins. The show concludes with Bruckner’s Third Symphony.

Bill Bastian presents a pre-concert prelude talk at 6:10 p.m. to the left of the main lobby in the harbor side arena walkway.
