New Year's by the Lake

Date: Friday, December 31 06:00 PM - Saturday, January 01 12:30 AM

Venue: Greysolon by Black Woods

By the Lake Productions and the Black Woods Group are excited to announce the third annual New Year’s by the Lake.
Food, laughter and music will highlight New Year’s by the Lake Friday, December 31st at four venues including the Greysolon Ballroom, Moorish Room, the NorShor Theater and the exclusive pre-opening of Black Water Lounge in downtown Duluth.
“We’re excited to present this event again in 2021 after a one year hiatus due to COVID 19” said Tracy Lundeen, co-producer of New Years by the Lake. “This is truly a unique event with multiple venues, entertainment options and delicious food and drink” he added.
New Year’s by the Lake will begin with an elegant five course dinner (gluten free and vegan options will be available) in the Greysolon Ballroom. Live music will be presented in the Ballroom during dinner by the Maxi Childs Trio. Dinner will be followed by an incredible comedy performance by Jack Willhite in the NorShor Theater. “Where Rock and Roll and Comedy collide” - Willhite is like a cross between Weird Al Yankovic and a classic rock tribute band.
After the laughs, the evening will just be getting started as the Greysolon Ballroom will be converted into a dance hall featuring good times and “ripplery” of the legendary Big Wave Dave and the Ripples. Fabulous vocals, horns and a rhythm section playing rock, funk, soul and blues music all night long. Laura Velvet will dazzle in the Moorish Room with their stylish musical presentation of everything from Motown to modern. Known for their captivating and entertaining performances, filled with sequins and style, you’ll come for the music but stay for the performance! And last but certainly not least, the Black Water Lounge WILL BE OPEN for an exclusive sneak peek after being closed during street re-construction and the pandemic and will feature DJ Cory Bonneville from Sounds Unlimited playing the greatest dance hits from the 50’s to today-this dance party will rival the best!
There will be balloon drops, a champagne toast and party favors at midnight in all three rooms as well as a photo booth. All elements of New Years by the Lake are indoors and completely accessible via the skywalk system.
Ticket packages for New Year’s by the Lake will be available ranging from $30 to $129 per person, plus tax and fees. A portion of the proceeds from New Years by the Lake will benefit the Bluebird Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) that provides grants and scholarships to area high school age students in the performing arts.
